  House Rules
   
 

1. Applicability
House rules shall apply:

  1. At the Shatin and Beas River cross country venues
    (herein after called venues) within the perimeter boundary
    and inside all buildings and structures therein;
  2. To all events held at the venues for the period of the
    Good Luck Beijing – HKSAR 10 th Anniversary Cup
    (i.e., the 2007 Event ) during competition days

2. Entry to Venues
House rules shall apply:

  1. Valid entry ticket or other form of authorized pass (e.g. accreditation card) for events is required for entry. Validity of an entry ticket ceases when a holder leaves a venue on the specified date. A special re-entry pass may be handed to the person requiring re-entry which will allow one re-entry to the venue when presented together with a valid entry ticket;
  2. Entry tickets and accreditation cards, or other forms of valid pass, must be presented when entering the venues, or within the venues when requested by venue security staff or officials, or by the police. Lost tickets are not replaceable;
  3. Children of three or above will require tickets. Children under three years old could be admitted without a ticket provided that they share the seat with their guardians.
  4. There shall be no unauthorized parking at venues.

3. Security Control

  1. Security personnel at venues may intercept or interdict persons who constitute a threat to public safety and good order for any reason, including those apparently under the influence of alcohol or drugs and those in possession of dangerous items or substances. Such persons may be barred from entry or ejected from the venue;
  2. Security personnel at venues are authorized to invite people present in or entering the venues to submit to search of body, clothing and bags. Persons who refuse without good reason to submit
    to search may be refused entry and removed from the venues

4. Good Behaviour at Venues

  1. Persons entering or present at venues shall not deliberately cause obstruction at points of entry or exit, stairways, aisles, zone access points, emergency exits or access routes for emergency services within the venue, nor shall they impede, obstruct or detrimentally affect the flow of pedestrians or traffic on roads and walkways;
  2. Persons present at venues shall obey all reasonable instructions of venue officials and the Police. Spectators shall proceed to the seat designated in their ticket by the routes indicated on the ticket or by officials and shall occupy their designated seat unless using the public areas and catering facilities of the venue;
  3. Unauthorized flags and banners shall not be displayed in such a manner to obstruct the full view of other spectators. Venue management reserves the right to confiscate any form of banner, flag, poster or other means of exhibition which, in the opinion of venue management is, or may, constitute a source of visual obstruction to spectators, or which may cause offence to any person;
  4. No form of unauthorized publicity, commercial or otherwise, and no form of political propaganda, appearing on flags, banners, clothing, sportswear, accessories or, more generally, on any article of clothing or equipment whatsoever worn or used by spectators, athletes or other participants in the events is permitted. However, this shall not apply to identification of the manufacturer of the article or equipment concerned, provided that such identification shall not be marked conspicuously for the purposes of advertising;
  5. Litter is to be disposed of in litter bins;
  6. Found property shall be handed to venue officials or to the Police. All found property not collected before the closure of the venue at the end of events for the day may be retained at the venue or handed over to the Police;
  7. Reports of missing persons or lost property should be reported to Police or to venue officials;
  8. Unauthorized audio, photographs and video recording shall be permitted only for private purposes. The use of flash photography is prohibited;
  9. The normal usage of mobile phones and similar devices shall be allowed, provided no undue inconvenience is caused to other spectators and no interference is caused to the competition
    or to the management of the venue.
  10. The following acts within the venue are specifically prohibited:
    • Interference with horses, athletes or officials by any means;
    • Unauthorized entry to restricted zones;
    • Selling unauthorized merchandise or re-selling entry tickets without authority;
    • Distributing printed material, engaging in collections or signature campaigns, demonstrating or engaging in acts of protest, expressing or otherwise
      propagating political propaganda;
    • Smoking , except at designated smoking areas at the Back of House only ;
    • writing, painting or creating graffiti on buildings, facilities or roads;
    • Standing on spectators’ seats;
    • Bringing drinks into the venue;
    • Using umbrellas at spectator stands at the Sha Tin venue

5. Prohibited Items

Persons entering venues are prohibited from bringing into the venue any of the followings items:

  1. Discriminatory or political propaganda materials;
  2. Any kind of article, object or substance which could be used as a weapon or which may be harmful to health, such as compressed gas or liquid spray containers, acidic, flammable, combustible or colouring substances;
  3. Fireworks, star shells, smoke powder, smoke bombs or other pyrotechnic objects of any kind, including firing devices;
  4. Flag and banner poles, sticks or rods longer than one meter, or with a diameter of over 3 centimeters and so-called double holders; however this prohibition does not apply to walking sticks for the elderly, sick or handicapped;
  5. Flags and banners not made from flame-resistant material;
  6. Mechanically operated noise instruments such as megaphones, gas pressure clarions, whistles, drums or gongs;
  7. Animals other than guide dogs;
  8. Laser pointers .

 

6. Liability

Visitors enter and remain in venues at their own risk. Visitors are warned that entry to the arena during events or to the stables and training areas exposes them to risks of contact with horses and is very dangerous. The venue management shall not be liable for injury or damage by 3 rd parties.

7. Violations

Persons, who deliberately act contrary to house rules, may be removed from the venues without reimbursement and if their acts are contrary to the Laws of Hong Kong they may be arrested by the Police.
