The following checklist summarises what you need to do to ensure you have a great day at the event.
Ticket information
Forgotten, lost, defaced, damaged, destroyed, stolen or unreadable tickets are not valid and WILL NOT be replaced.
Distribute your tickets in advance among your group. We will not hold tickets at venues for collection.
Read all the terms and conditions and make sure you do not bring any restricted items.
Event information
Check your ticket for the event you are attending and what time it starts.
Listen for last-minute announcements on TV and radio for any changes to the start
time of the event you are watching.
Transport
Spectators holding valid tickets for the day are entitled to free shuttle services to and from the pre-selected public transport interchange and the competition venues.
Travel time
You should aim to be at the venue entrance at least one to two hours before the event starts, keeping in mind the large crowds travelling to venues and the time needed to pass through security screenings.
Money at venues
Only Hong Kong dollars will be accepted at the venues.
Weather conditions
Check the weather forecast before going.
If it is hot, drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.
Events may be rescheduled in extreme weather conditions, so please check for last-minute announcements on TV, radio and inquiry hotline.
What to wear
Wear light-coloured loose clothing for comfort in the heat. Walking shoes are recommended as you may need to walk long distances.
High-heeled shoes are not allowed in the Beas River venue.
Travel light-a small backpack is recommended.
Both venues are outdoors, so be prepared for the hot summer sun cap, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.
To enhance your viewing, a lightweight pair of binoculars would be useful.
Meeting points
Decide on a meeting point at your destination (such as an information booth) in case you are separated from your group. Please do not arrange to meet near transport arrival and departure areas as these may be crowded and/or operating on a one-way traffic flow system.
Children
Children aged two and under, not occupying a seat and accompanied by an adult ticket holder, can be admitted without a ticket.
Tell your child that it is important to stay close to you. When you arrive, point out the uniformed spectator services volunteers, wearing shirts like the one pictured, and tell your child to ask them for help if they become lost.
